About Us

Why Tribu Terra Exists

Across the tropics, some of the most biodiverse landscapes on Earth are under increasing pressure from deforestation, climate change, and economic vulnerability. At the same time, many communities living closest to these ecosystems face limited economic opportunities, even as they carry generations of ecological knowledge.

We believe these challenges are deeply connected — and that the solutions must be as well.

Our Vision

We envision a future where restoring forests, strengthening communities, and protecting cultural heritage are part of a single regenerative system. Tribu Terra aims to demonstrate that conservation can be locally rooted, economically viable, and scientifically grounded.

What We Do

Tribu Terra focuses on three interconnected areas of work.

Forest Conservation

The foundation of Tribu Terra is the protection and restoration of forest ecosystems.

Our approach prioritizes:

  • Science-based forest management
  • Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR) and enrichment planting
  • Biodiversity monitoring and habitat protection
  • Protection of native and threatened species

A significant portion of the sanctuary is dedicated to forest regeneration and ecological monitoring, allowing natural systems to recover while generating knowledge that can inform restoration efforts elsewhere.

Community Resilience

Healthy ecosystems and thriving communities depend on each other.

Tribu Terra works to strengthen local resilience by supporting:

  • Nature-based livelihoods
  • Regenerative agroforestry and forest food systems
  • Skills development and knowledge sharing
  • Community-based micro-enterprises linked to conservation

The goal is to ensure that conservation creates tangible benefits for the people who live closest to the forest.

Environmental Innovation Lab

Many environmental solutions are designed for urban or high-resource contexts.
Yet tropical landscapes often require approaches that are simpler, more adaptable, and locally maintainable.

Tribu Terra serves as a small-scale research and development hub exploring practical solutions for:

  • Renewable off-grid energy
  • Water harvesting and treatment
  • Ecological monitoring tools
  • Low-impact building and infrastructure
  • Climate-resilient land stewardship

The aim is to demonstrate that effective environmental solutions do not always need to be complex or expensive.

Get Involved

We are building a sanctuary where forests recover, ideas are tested, and local livelihoods grow alongside conservation.

We welcome collaboration with individuals and organisations who share our values of science-based conservation, practical environmental solutions, and community resilience.

We are particularly interested in working with:

• Forestry and agroforestry practitioners supporting restoration and biodiversity protection
• Climate and environmental technology innovators developing practical solutions for tropical landscapes
• Impact investors and partners who believe conservation and livelihoods can grow together
• Researchers, educators, and storytellers helping preserve knowledge, culture, and place

Tribu Terra is still at an early stage. We believe that the best solutions emerge through collaboration, humility, and experimentation.

If our work resonates with you, we would love to hear from you.
